In Washington, uhless you're really big, like Boeing, your only choice is the state is your carrier. But they allow you to break down the activities of workers into different classifications. My roofers are 'roofers' about 70% of the time, salesman 1>>>

Lefty,

The roofer that does the estimates gets paid a small flat rate per estimate and a percentage of the profit of each job he lands. The compensation for the estimates is a seperate line item on his check.

REDSHIRT ROOFING

I have not been able to find a way around it. Any money paid to employees is subject to taxes and w/c insurance. Doesn't seem fair but I am sure that some would take advantage of the situation if it was otherwise.>>>
