Underlayment
« Back To Roofers TalkHas anyone used Intertapes new Nova Seal underlay? How does it stack up against Titanium , Feltex or Grace? I am especially worried about when wet, here in Seattle.>>>
I'm no familiar with the product. I'll keep an eye out for it though.
Haven't used it. Have used the Titanium. I like it!>>>
I haven't tried it, but used Feltex and liked it. I noticed that they claim it's about one/third the labor as 30# felt. I install 30 lb with a hammer tacker. Most synthetics require wind nails. That difference negates much of the labor time savings.>>>
What about the fact that synthetic is better.>>>
Man... that's some face lift you had>>>
Deck Armor is the first I've seen that looks decent.
Next week, I'll use my favorite and preferred underlay! Random width 1x's!>>>
i've used Deck armor exclusively for about a yr.>>>
Ive been using a moisturizer, and embraced my white hair>>>
man macroof looks like kenny rogers now instead of a nerd!>>>
With his Kenny look, I bet Mac has a 900 number for lonely middle aged Lucille's to call. No wonder he can afford to use Deck Armor exclusively.>>>
I am still a nerd at heart>>>
Never heard of it. Happy with Titanium when using synthetics. Which is almost never btw. The Titanium rep (forgot name of company) joined me and the Certainteed rep on an offshore fishing trip a few years ago and paid for everything. Lobbyism at it's bes>>>
I still use tar paper,30 lb. We cover what we tear immediately and I have been thinking about switching to 15 lb. to be more cost effective.Does anyone have any thoughts on this? What are your reasons for using the synthetics? I see them advertised in all>>>
There's an old saying that says "leave well enough alone". And I truly believe in that. Felt has been used for well over 100 years. It's a good vapor barrier. Do I need to use anything else? No. But some situations just have synthetic written all ove>>>
