Plastic vents ove kitchen ranges

Roofers still think it is ok around here to install a platic vent over a kitchen range/stove pipe. Got up on the roof and found 1/2 burnt and thoroughly melted vent. Customer had a stove fire, they are lucky the roof didn't catch fire.>>>

In Tenasee all cooking stove vents , out the roof have been banned.All the hoods over ranges now are manufactured to vent back into the kitchen area.>>>
