Tongue and groove roof deck
« Back To Roofers TalkI am going to reroof a 200+ year old house that has tongue and groove roof decking. The beans are about 4' apart. I was thinking of using the plywood foam sandwich sheathing but don't know where to find it. Any opinions?>>>

I think that beans should only be about 8-10 inches apart. Giant pumpkins on the other hand need more room.>>>
What's wrong with the deck? Just tear off existing roof and install new one. Sounds like a perfect house for a tin roof. A historic house should get a new 100+ year roof. Not a 10-15 year shingle roof.>>>
Is the decking shot? Why wouldn't you replace the decking with similar decking?>>>

Joe,
Think what you like, but as I said in my second post, I thought it was as simple as hitting a "2" instead of a "1", which led to the 28, when it should have been 18.
Iso R-values changed, but nowhere near that much.

Maybe, Joe.
But all my first post did was correct a wrong statement. It didn't escalate until I was so politely told to butt out, and invited to respond once I realized how wrong I was.
Shame on me.>>>
