---I agree slate is superior. ---However, it is not the right product for many buildings. Out west we have a majority of rambler homes with a 4/12 pitch roof. They are built in a lower end neighborhood and priced for affordability. The ONLY correct roof in this case is a low end comp roof typically 30 year laminate. ---Out where I live 90/100 homes have comp. 5/100 have torchdown. The rest have shake or metal. I doubt you could find a slate roof in less than one hour of driving. By the way I look at roofs whenever I drive. I cannot remember seeing a slate roof except on a church or other specialized building. Lanny
